The Devon School of Yoga teaches an holistic approach to Yoga: including meditation, breathing exercises, relaxation and mantra as well as a pragmatic approach to the teaching of asana or postures that is not constricted by one specific style.
My standard classes last for one and a half hours and always start with a period of controlled breathing to allow the student to centre themselves, ready for the session. We then practice a series of warm up exercises and postures that will vary from week to week. The emphasis is on increasing flexibility, suppleness and strength with options within each posture to suit the level of the student. As a result, all classes are suitable for beginners as well as more experienced practitioners.
